Where UTM Stands in 2023: From Blueprint to Deployment
When Airbus first published the Blueprint for the Sky, much of the UTM conversation was still theoretical. In 2023 the picture looks different: LAANC authorizations are routine for commercial pilots, BVLOS corridors are being trialled, and regulators from the FAA to EASA have concrete timelines for integrated airspace.
What hasn't changed is the hard part. Scaling from a few thousand flights to a few million means deconfliction, fairness and risk assessment have to work automatically, every time. The research we have shared through Closing the Loop remains the foundation for that work.
